Part of the reason behind the formation of this blog was the Virgin Territory referred to in the previous post.
It seems to be a common unspoken reality of modern life that no one really shares all of their inner thoughts. Even in an age of interaction where we can ring, text, skype, im, blog, post messages and correspond in ways that never existed, it seems we all have our secret lives.
Anonymous blogs, where your friends know it’s you. Hard to pour out your stock of dirty secrets.
That’s why The Lives of Others exists.
I coud be anyone. I could say anything. And a small part of the whirling cloud of secret lies in my head can lift and I can feel a little lighter as I go through the day.
This is what confession was for, before we all lost faith.
This is what God used to do before we stopped believing in him.
There is no God and so we blog.

“There is no God and so we blog” – I love this line.
It’s all well and good but I just can’t bring myself to trust in the anonymity. I can’t disguise my writing style enough. I’ve been automatically trying to determine who’s been writing and have recognised at least one poster.
So I will be posting but nothing very very deep.
Yep. I prefer disclosure anyway, really. I don’t quite get secrecy. If it’s that secret, trying to hide who I am just makes me feel icky. Secrets gave my mother cancer.
There is no God and so we blog? Well it’s stylish, but I think it’s an empty statement.
We blog to speak to the human in ourselves and others, not the divine.
How is it anonymous if we have to put in an email address to comment?
You don’t have to – just log in with your username and password and then comment from there. The blog will sign you as The Lives Of Others.
If you don’t get secrecy and prefer disclosure then why participate?
i like this idea. my friends do indeed read my blogs, and sometimes i just want to vent without hugs and support, without people offering solutions… i just want to get it out so i can get on with life.
